About the Project
We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer and SAP Integration Specialist to connect our Smart Integrity Platform (SIP) with our clients’ SAP S/4HANA Cloud systems.
The goal of this project is to build a robust, bidirectional interface. This integration will extract vendor master data, product/material catalogs, purchasing info records, and supplier balance sheets while enabling our system to write back approval/rejection statuses and TRACES EUDR Due Diligence Statement (DDS) verification numbers into SAP.
Key Responsibilities
- API Architecture & Integration: Design and implement OData (v2/v4) and REST API integrations between our platform and SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
- SAP Configuration Setup: Configure SAP Communication Scenarios, Communication Systems, and Users (e.g., SAP_COM_0008, SAP_COM_0009, SAP_COM_0002).
- Bidirectional Data Flow:
- Implement incremental delta loads (filtering via LastChangeDateTime and Delta Tokens) for business partners, products, and balances.
- Develop write-back mechanisms (PATCH/POST using CSRF token handling) to update status fields and Custom Fields (YY1_).
- Security & Resilience: Set up OAuth 2.0 / Basic Authentication, robust error handling, exponential backoff retries, and server-side pagination ($skiptoken).
- Documentation & Testing: Maintain clear API integration documentation and assist in onboarding client SAP environments.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven Experience: Track record in backend development with hands-on experience integrating SAP S/4HANA Cloud (Public/Private Edition) via the SAP Business Accelerator Hub.
- SAP API Expertise: Deep knowledge of standard SAP OData services, specifically:
- API_BUSINESS_PARTNER
- API_PRODUCT_SRV
- API_SUPPLIERBALANCE_SRV
- API_PURCHASING_INFORECORD
- Modern Tech Stack: Proficiency in backend technologies (e.g., Node.js/TypeScript, Python, Java, Go, or .NET/C#) and REST/OData protocols.
- Business Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of SAP master data structures (Suppliers/Business Partners, Materials/PIRs) and basic Accounts Payable processes.
- Autonomy: Ability to work independently, troubleshoot integration hurdles, and liaise with client-side SAP administrators.
- Languages: Professional fluency in English (German is a plus).
